Apostles’ Fast – In the Byzantine Catholic Metropolia of Pittsburgh (to which our own Eparchy is united) May 31 to June 28 is observed by voluntary abstinence from meat on Wednesdays as well as the usually obligatory abstinence on Fridays.

St. Theodosia, Virgin, was martyred in Tyre in 308. Upon seeing others being led away o their deaths for the Faith, she asked the soon to be martyred to pray for her. She was seized, tortured, and thrown into the sea under the Emperors Galerius and Constantine.

This was the third time the head of the glorious Prophet and forerunner of Our Lord Jesus Christ. It was found in the year 867, when St. Ignatius was Patriarch of Constantinople, during the reign of Emperor Michael lll.
